Tosses six scoreless frames Singer (9-8) earned the win Sunday, allowing five hits and one walk over six scoreless innings against the Reds. He struck out six. Impact Singer, who also hit a batter in allowing seven total batters to reach base, only tossed one flawless inning but also only allowed one baserunner to make it past first base. He left the game with a four-run lead which was more than enough to grab his ninth win. This start comes on the heels of a three-game stretch in which he allowed 13 earned runs over 17.2 innings (6.62 ERA). However, those games came immediately following two consecutive games of seven innings and zero earned runs. It was Singer's 11th quality start this season, and he's pitched particularly well over his last 11 appearances, even including the aforementioned three-game blip, holding a 2.92 ERA over 64.2 innings during that stretch. His next start is tentatively slated to take place at home against the visiting Phillies.
