Impact Singer was given an early lead and never looked back. He held the Rays scoreless through seven innings before four straight hits, including two home runs, to open up the eighth plated four runs. Overall, it was an efficient outing for Singer who needed just 92 pitches to record his third career start of eight innings or more. It was a great bounce back effort after he'd ended the first half on a sour note. He's working on a 5.70 ERA, 1.50 WHIP and 81:35 K:BB in 102.2 innings this year and projects for a road start against the Yankees during the upcoming week.

Impact Singer came out on the wrong end of a pitchers duel, tossing six scoreless frames despite the Royals taking a 2-1 loss. The start marked his second scoreless outing of the campaign, with the other coming on June 4 against the Rockies. However, he's struggled between the pair of scoreless appearances, going 0-3 with a 5.94 ERA and an 11:6 K:BB across his last three starts. He's in line to make his next appearance during a three-game homestand against the Dodgers this weekend.

Impact Singer wasn't all that effective, but the Royals' lack of offense didn't help his cause. That's actually an improvement on his season mark of 6.33, which comes with an uninspiring 1.61 WHIP and 65:28 K:BB over 69.2 innings across 14 starts. There aren't any better options knocking down the door, as the Royals' rotation owns a 5.44 ERA collectively this year, ranking 27th in the majors. Singer is projected for a road start in Detroit his next time out.

It's been a disappointing start to 2023 for Singer, who finished last year with a 3.23 ERA, 1.14 WHIP and 150:35 K:BB across 153.1 innings (all career-best marks). He has shown signs of finding his 2022 form, finishing at least five innings while giving up two or fewer runs six times, but there hasn't been any consistency from the right-hander yet.

Impact Singer did not allow an extra base hit and did now allow a single runner to get into scoring position. The 26-year-old did not walk a batter for the first time since April 25 and his seven strikeouts were his most in a start since April 14. Singer has allowed two earned runs or less in four of his last five starts and now sits at a 6.45 ERA, 1.55 WHIP and 56:23 K:BB over 60 innings. He'll look to pick up another win in a tentative matchup against the Orioles next weekend.

Impact Singer had major problems with his control in the outing, throwing just 49 of 87 pitches for a strike and walking a season-high four batters. The right-hander allowed three first-inning runs and another pair in the third, and he departed with two outs in the fourth after issuing a free pass to the final batter he faced. Singer's ERA ballooned to 7.48 as a result of the rough outing, second-worst among hurlers who have tossed at least 40 innings. This was certainly a step back after he posted a quality start in each of his previous two appearances.

Lit up for eight runs in loss Singer (2-3) was handed the loss Sunday against the Twins after giving up eight runs on five hits and three walks over 2.2 innings. He struck out five in the effort.

Impact Singer allowed a run in the second and then completely unraveled in the third. He actually wound up striking out two of the first three hitters he faced in the inning but could not get the final out. He walked two batters before Byron Buxton opened things up with a three-run blast to left. The next four batters would then reach on three base hits and a hit by pitch, tallying two more runs for the Twins. Singer was replaced by Josh Staumont with runners on first and third and was charged two more runs before Staumont could close the door on the inning. After Sunday's outing, Singer now leads the majors in giving up 56 hard-hit balls over just 29.2 innings. It's been a disappointing first month of the season for him, and he now sits at an 8.49 ERA, which is the worst among all qualified starting pitchers in baseball. The 26-year-old should have an opportunity to get back on track with a projected matchup against Oakland next weekend.
