Sent to minor-league camp Atlanta reassigned Farmer to minor-league camp Sunday.

Impact The right-hander joined the club as a non-roster invitee in February and appeared to have a good chance of making the Opening Day roster, but his four runs allowed and 8:4 K:BB over 5.2 spring innings apparently wasn't enough to warrant a roster spot. Assuming Farmer doesn't receive big-league interest elsewhere, he'll likely begin the campaign at Triple-A Gwinnett.

Impact Farmer replaced starter Andrew Abbot with one out in the fourth inning and retired all four batters faced, including a double-play to escape the fourth. The outing was Farmer's 50th of the season, tying him for third in majors along with fellow Cincinnati bullpen mates Ian Gibaut and Alexis Diaz. The right-handed Farmer endured a rough patch early in July but has righted himself with three runs allowed and 11 strikeouts over the last 9.1 innings.
