Impact Farmer had been with the team since Opening Day but struggled through 12 relief appearances. He owns a 12.66 ERA and 2.25 WHIP through 10.2 innings, walking 16.1 percent of opposing batters while striking out just 17.9 percent. As a 30-year-old with a career 5.47 ERA, there's seemingly a good chance he passes through waivers and remains a part of the Tigers' organization.

Hit hard again Monday Farmer allowed three runs on a hit and three walks across 1.2 innings in Monday's 15-6 loss to the Twins. He struck out one.

Impact No Detroit pitcher had much luck in the blowout loss, and Farmer served up a solo home run to Nelson Cruz as part of his rough outing. Through two appearances this season, the righty has allowed five earned runs in just 2.2 innings of work. Farmer should ultimately settle in as one of the Tigers' more reliable relief options, but he's unlikely to have a ton of fantasy appeal in his role.

Signs one-year contract Farmer and the Tigers agreed to terms on a one-year, $1.85 million deal Friday, avoiding arbitration, Evan Petzold of the Detroit Free Press reports.

Impact Farmer posted his second straight season of competent relief work in 2020, following up his 3.72 ERA from the previous season with a 3.80 mark over 21.1 innings. A big drop in his strikeout rate from 25.3 percent to 15.7 percent casts some doubt on his ability to repeat that number in 2021, however.
