Impact Mills entered the game in the fourth inning with the Cubs trailing 7-1 and pitched well in his first appearance of the season. The veteran gave up solo homers in the fifth and sixth inning but otherwise was effective. He will likely appear in relief for the time being but is a likely choice to move to the rotation should there be an injury or a demotion.

Keegan Thompson - Crushed in loss Thompson (6-1) took the loss Tuesday in Baltimore, allowing seven runs on five hits, two hit batsmen and a walk while striking out one in three innings.
Impact Thompson allowed home runs on two of his first three pitches and gave up a third blast in the second inning. His night ended after only 50 pitches as he allowed multiple runs in each of the three innings. Thompson allowed only three homers in his first 45.1 innings this season and was taken deep three times in his first time through the order Tuesday. His next start will likely come early next week against San Diego.

Impact Crow-Armstrong moved up a level on May 30, and the 20-year-old has understandably slowed down a bit after slashing .354/.443/.557 with seven home runs and 13 stolen bases across 38 games with Single-A Myrtle Beach. He hasn't drawn a walk yet for South Bend after recording 22 walks in his time with Myrtle Beach, but the top prospect is still sporting a respectable .809 OPS at the new level thanks to his four extra-base hits in just the five contests. If Crow-Armstrong continues to drive the ball and also starts to tally some free passes, his slash line will only trend upward, and another promotion could be in order later this year.
