Impact Brach threw a side session Saturday and has now been cleared to return to game action. The right-hander has been sidelined since Aug. 8 due to a right shoulder impingement but could rejoin the major-league club after a relatively brief rehab assignment.

R.J. Alaniz - Recalled as 29th man Alaniz was recalled by the Reds to serve as the 29th man in Wednesday's doubleheader against the Cardinals.
Impact Alaniz missed just over three weeks due to a strained left calf earlier in the season, and he was sent down after he was reinstated from the injured list in mid-August. Delino DeShields - Gets September call-up The Reds selected DeShields' contract from Triple-A Louisville ahead of Wednesday's doubleheader with the Cardinals.
Impact One day after acquiring him from Boston, Cincinnati will add DeShields to its 40-man roster and 28-man active roster, giving the team an additional body in the outfield for the final month of the season. Though Jesse Winker (intercostal) remains without a clear timeline to return from the injured list, the Reds are expected to rely largely on a platoon of Max Schrock and Aristides Aquino to replace him in left field. DeShields will most likely function as a late-inning defensive replacement and the team's top pinch-running threat off the bench. He slashed a pedestrian .252/.385/.366 in 381 plate appearances at Triple-A this season, but the 29-year-old continued to flash some impressive wheels with a 21-for-24 success rate on steal attempts.

Impact Gray will likely have to wait just a day to pitch, especially if Tuesday's game is rescheduled as part of a doubleheader Wednesday. The righty is coming off arguably his best two-start stretch of 2021, as he's held opponents scoreless and struck out 11 in his last 13 innings.
