Alec Mills - Inks minors deal with CincinnatiMills signed a minor-league contract Thursday with the Reds, Charlie Goldsmith of The Cincinnati Enquirer reports.

ImpactThe organization's MLB-ready pitching depth has been ravaged by injuries, so Mills will get a look with an assignment first to Triple-A Louisville. He struggled to attract interest over the winter after struggling to a 9.68 ERA in 17.2 major-league innings (two starts, five relief appearances) last season with the Cubs.

Ryan Rolison - Starts up rehab assignmentRolison (shoulder) began a rehab assignment with Single-A Fresno on Tuesday and tossed three scoreless innings, striking out three while allowing two hits and one walk.

ImpactRolison missed the entire 2022 season and eventually underwent surgery last June to repair the labrum in his left shoulder, but he looks to be just a few weeks away from returning from the 60-day injured list. Heading into the season, the Rockies may have initially been planning to option Rolison to Triple-A Albuquerque at the conclusion of his 30-day rehab window, but long-term elbow injuries to German Marquez and Antonio Senzatela have already tested the organization's thin pitching depth. If Rolison continues to fare reasonably well when he eventually moves his rehab assignment to higher-level affiliate, he could have a spot in the big-league rotation waiting for him once he's activated.

Stuart Fairchild - Drives in threeFairchild went 2-for-5 with two doubles and three RBI in Wednesday's 11-6 loss to the Rockies.

ImpactFairchild snapped an 0-for-10 stretch with a two-run double in the fifth inning, extending Cincinnati's lead to 5-0. He'd add a second double and a third RBI in the ninth, driving in Nick Senzel. The 27-year-old Fairchild has been starting regularly in centerfield while TJ Friedl (oblique) has been sidelined. He's slashing .217/.323/.361 with a home run, 13 runs scored, 12 RBI and three stolen bases through 101 plate appearances this season.

Brent Suter - Picks up second winSuter (2-0) earned the win in Wednesday's 11-6 win over the Reds. He allowed one walk over one scoreless inning.

ImpactSuter has been excellent for the Rockies this season. The veteran left-hander has allowed just one run in his last 17.1 innings (12 appearances), lowering his ERA to 0.98 with a 0.98 WHIP 26:10 K:BB. While Suter hasn't received a save opportunity this year, he could eventually work his way into the ninth-inning picture if Pierce Johnson or Daniel Bard struggle.

Jurickson Profar - Hitting for extra basesProfar went 2-for-5 with a double, two RBI and a run scored Wednesday against the Reds.

ImpactProfar did all of his damage in the fifth inning when he doubled in two runs and came around to score. He now has four extra-base hits across his last five starts, though none have left the yard. Despite Profar's good stretch, he still has only a .315 wOBA and 82 wRC+ across 170 plate appearances on the season.

Brenton Doyle - Stays hotDoyle went 2-for-4 with a triple, two RBI and two runs scored Wednesday against the Reds.

ImpactDoyle tallied a two-RBI triple in the sixth inning for what proved to be the game-winning hit. He's been hot across his last four games, posting three homers with six RBI and six runs scored. Outside of this hot stretch, Doyle has struggled to reach base consistently -- he has only a .293 on-base percentage across 58 plate appearances -- but he has remained in the lineup consistently even with the return of Randal Grichuk.
