Brad Brach - Rehab assignment awaitsBrach (shoulder) threw a side session Saturday and is expected to begin a rehab assignment at Triple-A Louisville during the upcoming week, Bobby Nightengale of The Cincinnati Enqu...
ImpactBrach has been on the shelf since Aug. 8 with a right shoulder impingement, but he looks to be honing in on a return to the active roster. The Reds will presumably want to see him make at least one or two appearances at Louisville before adding him back to their bullpen.

Tyler Mahle - Takes tough-luck lossMahle (10-5) allowed two runs on four hits and two walks over seven innings Sunday, striking out six and taking a loss against the Marlins.
ImpactMahle coughed up a two-run shot to Jesus Sanchez in the first inning but settled in to toss six shutout frames after. Aside from the homer, the other three hits he allowed were singles. The 26-year-old has allowed two or fewer runs in four of his last five starts, lowing his season ERA to 3.64 through 148.1 innings. Mahle is lined up to face Detroit at home next weekend.

Jesús Sánchez - Homers in second straight gameSanchez went 1-for-3 with a two-run homer in Sunday's 2-1 win over the Reds.
ImpactSanchez launched a two-run shot off Tyler Mahle in the first inning and it was enough to guide Miami to a win in the low-scoring affair. It was the sixth homer of the year for the rookie outfielder and his second in as many games. The 23-year-old is 8-for-43 (.186) in August, lowering his season slash line to .238/.299/.444 through 137 plate appearances.

Dylan Floro - Escapes with seventh saveFloro allowed a run on one hit and a walk Sunday, striking out one batter and earning the save over Cincinnati.
ImpactFloro found himself in a tough situation with runners on second and third with just one out in the ninth inning. After an RBI sacrifice fly by Joey Votto, he stranded the runner on second and finished off the 2-1 win. He's converted 7-of-11 save chances this season, including his last three since Aug. 15. Floro is sporting a 3.00 ERA and a 47:21 K:BB through 51 innings.

Jesus Luzardo - Tosses six shutout framesLuzardo (5-7) allowed a hit and a walk over six scoreless innings Sunday, striking out eight and earning a win over the Reds.
ImpactLuzardo got off to a shaky start, yielding a double and a walk to the first two batters of the game. Over the next five innings, only one Red would reach base and it was due to a fielding error. It's just the second time this year that the 23-year-old southpaw finished at least six innings and he matched his season-high eight strikeouts. He's now 3-3 since joining the Marlins despite an unsightly 7.62 ERA during that span. Luzardo is lined up to face the Phillies at home next weekend.
