Pablo Reyes - Removed from 40-man rosterThe Mets designated Reyes for assignment Monday, Mike Puma of the New York Post reports.
ImpactReyes was with the Mets for one week and appeared in just one game as a pinch runner. He's being replaced on the roster by fellow utility player Eddy Alvarez.
9 DAYS AGOROTOWIRE
Luke Maile - Back on bench MondayMaile is out of the lineup for Monday's game against Atlanta.
ImpactMaile picked up a start in Sunday's 3-1 win over the Mets while top backstop Tyler Stephenson received a breather, but Stephenson will be back behind the plate Monday. Since being activated from the 10-day injured list Aug. 2, Maile has started just seven times while going 2-for-21 at the dish.

Will Benson - Returns to bench roleBenson is out of the lineup for Monday's game in Atlanta.
ImpactT.J. Friedl needed just one afternoon out of the lineup to recover from experiencing a shortness of breath in Saturday's 4-0 loss to the Mets, so Benson will head back to the bench as the Reds head to Atlanta for a standalone game. Before cracking the lineup Sunday, Benson hadn't started in any of the Reds' preceding five contests.

T.J. Friedl - Back in lineup MondayFriedl will start in center field and bat cleanup in Monday's game against Atlanta.
ImpactAfter experiencing shortness of breath and exiting early in Saturday's 4-0 loss to the Mets, Friedl was held out of the lineup for the series finale Sunday. Friedl felt well enough to come off the bench to pinch hit in addition to playing two innings in center field in the Reds' 3-1 win, so it comes as little surprise that he'll be back in the starting nine a day later.

Jonathan India - Not in Monday's lineupIndia (elbow) is absent from the lineup for Monday's game in Atlanta.
ImpactIndia had to depart Sunday's contest versus the Mets due to left elbow discomfort. While the injury does not seem like a long-term concern, India will miss at least one start. Santiago Espinal will be at second base for the Reds on Monday.

Jose Iglesias - Swipes bag in Sunday's lossIglesias went 1-for-4 with a stolen base in Sunday's loss to the Reds.
ImpactWith Jeff McNeil (wrist) done for the year, the door is open for Iglesias to get a starting role at second base down the stretch for the Mets. The 34-year-old infielder has been remarkably productive since joining the team in late May, and he's slowed down only a little in the second half, slashing .278/.326/.329 over 86 plate appearances since the beginning of August. Iglesias offers effectively no power and only a little speed, but consistent playing time will still give him some fantasy upside in deep formats.
9 DAYS AGOROTOWIRE
Eddy Alvarez - Traded to MetsThe Mets acquired Alvarez from the Red Sox on Sunday in exchange for cash considerations.
ImpactIt's a move that replenishes some organizational utility depth. Alvarez, 34, has spent all of the 2024 season at Triple-A Worcester, posting an .811 OPS with 18 home runs and 18 stolen bases while making starts at six different positions.
