Matt McLain - Heating up recentlyMcLain has hit .292/.514/.625 with two homers, three steals and an 11:11 BB:K across his last seven games for Double-A Chattanooga.
ImpactHe'd been slumping pretty badly before this stretch, posting a meager .617 OPS with zero homers over his prior 16 contests. It's been a hot-and-cold season for McLain, but with 17 homers, 27 steals and an .808 OPS in 103 games, he's been able to raise his prospect profile significantly. The caveat, of course, is that he's hitting .229 with a 28.1 percent strikeout rate. It's hard to see him succeeding in the majors without making significant adjustments to cut down on the whiffs.

ImpactFairchild has drawn just five starts for the Reds since the start of September, but he gave the team some insurance runs Sunday with his two-run blast in the sixth inning. His home run was just his fifth of the season, and he hasn't been a very fantasy-relevant player in recent weeks, going just 5-for-13 with a home run, a double, two RBI and a run this month.

Buck Farmer - Earns save SundayFarmer didn't strike out a batter but pitched a perfect ninth inning to earn the save during Sunday's win over the Cardinals.
ImpactFarmer hasn't had many high-leverage looks out of Cincinnati's bullpen this season, and Sunday's save was just his second of the season and his first since July 31. Although he's worked mainly as a middle reliever, he's been a strong contributor for the Reds over the last month and a half, posting a 0.44 ERA in 20.2 innings over his last 20 appearances. Alexis Diaz has been the favorite for save chances in Cincinnati, but it's possible that Farmer earns a few more high-leverage opportunities down the stretch as long as he continues to limit run production.
