Rece Hinds - Losing out on playing timeHinds is out of the lineup for Monday's game against Atlanta.
ImpactSince opening his big-league career earlier this month with nine extra-base hits and two stolen bases in his first six games, Hinds' sizzling bat has cooled off. In his subsequent three starts, Hinds has gone 1-for-12 with three strikeouts, and the downturn in performance may have already cost him an everyday role. While the right-handed-hitting Hinds should still have a regular spot in the lineup versus lefties while he's up with the big club, he'll take a seat against a right-hander (Reynaldo Lopez) for the second day in a row. Will Benson, Stuart Fairchild and Jake Fraley looks to be the Reds' preferred outfield configuration versus righties for the moment.

Robert Garcia - Collects second winGarcia (2-3) picked up the win Sunday over the Reds, walking one and striking out one in a scoreless eighth inning.
ImpactThe southpaw preserved a 2-2 tie in the top of the eighth and then got rewarded when rookie James Wood launched a three-run homer in the bottom of the frame. Garcia has been scored upon only once in his last 14 appearances dating back to June 16, delivering a 2.92 ERA, 0.89 WHIP and 21:4 K:BB over 12.1 innings during that stretch while recording three holds and both his wins.

Kyle Finnegan - Matches career high with 28th saveFinnegan struck out one in a perfect ninth inning to record his 28th save of the season in Sunday's win over the Reds.
ImpactDespite being deployed both Friday and Saturday for saves against Cincinnati, Washington manager Dave Martinez went back to Finnegan for the third game of the series, and the right-hander nailed down the sweep for the Nats on only five pitches, all strikes. Finnegan's 28 saves matched the career high he set in 2023, and his heavy workload this year hasn't been affecting his performance -- over 10 appearances in July he's posted a 2.89 ERA, 0.86 WHIP and 7:2 K:BB in 9.1 innings.
