Impact After homering twice Monday, Noel launched a 430-foot bomb off Drew Smyly with two outs in the sixth inning, putting the Guardians ahead 2-1. The 23-year-old Noel is now 4-for-7 with three long balls in his last two games after going just 2-for-13 in his previous six contests. While he's mostly occupied the short side of a platoon in right field with Will Brennan, Noel's impressive power could earn him a more substantial role down the stretch. He's now slashing .265/.311/.627 with nine homers, 17 RBI and 11 runs scored through his first 90 plate appearances.

Emmanuel Clase - Saves in four straight days Clase earned the save in Tuesday's 2-1 win over the Cubs, working around one hit in a scoreless ninth inning.
Impact Clase now has four saves in four consecutive days. The right-hander's converted his last 24 save chances, allowing just three earned runs over 33 innings in that span. Overall, Clase's up to a league-leading 37 saves with a pristine 0.64 ERA, 0.66 WHIP and 49:7 K:BB across 56.1 frames. He figures to almost certainly have the day off Wednesday, should a fifth-straight save opportunity arise.

Matthew Boyd - Sharp in Cleveland debut Boyd allowed one run on three hits over 5.1 innings in a no-decision Tuesday against the Cubs. He struck out six.
Impact After missing over a calendar year following Tommy John surgery, Boyd looked solid in his first outing with the Guardians, allowing just a lone run in the second inning while making it through 5.1 frames on just 80 pitches. The 33-year-old Boyd pitched to a 5.45 ERA in 15 starts with the Tigers last season, though he posted a stellar 0.83 ERA across 21.2 innings during his rehab assignment. Impact Sandlin also took a blown save after allowing an inherited runner to score, but the Guardians regained the lead in the bottom of the eighth to make him the pitcher of record. This was Sandlin's first win in nearly a month. He's been a little shaky with a 4.40 ERA and 1.60 WHIP over 14.1 innings since the start of July. For the year, he's at a 3.80 ERA, 1.20 WHIP and 52:19 K:BB with a save and six holds through 42.2 innings.
