Lucas Gilbreath - Will undergo Tommy John surgeryGilbreath (elbow) announced Tuesday that he will undergo Tommy John surgery, Danielle Allentuck of The Denver Gazette reports.

ImpactIt was announced late last week that Gilbreath would likely need to undergo the operation, but the southpaw sought second opinions before announcing the decision. Because of the surgery, he'll miss all of the 2023 season, and could miss the start of the 2024 campaign as well. Gilbreath will likely be placed on the 60-day injured list whenever the team needs an opening on the 40-man roster.

Nick Senzel - Still not running 100 percentReds manager David Bell said Tuesday that Senzel (toe) still isn't running at 100 percent, Charlie Goldsmith of the Cincinnati Enquirer reports.

ImpactSenzel has been hitting and playing defense in both the outfield and infield during daily workouts at Reds camp, but he won't be exposed to live action until his running program is fully where it needs to be. The 27-year-old is still working back from multiple surgeries to repair a toe fracture in his left foot and seems questionable for Opening Day at this point. He'd probably have to start appearing in Cactus League games before mid-March to make it happen.

Chase Anderson - Promoted to MLB campAnderson got promoted Tuesday to the major-league side of Reds camp.

ImpactAnderson was re-signed to a minor-league contract just before the start of spring training and has maybe put himself in position to claim an Opening Day roster spot. The veteran right-hander struggled to a 6.38 ERA over seven starts and two relief appearances with Cincinnati last season. If he does make the squad, it will likely be as a long reliever or mop-up man.
