Could contend for rotation spot According to Dodgers manager Dave Roberts, Price "is in the mix" for a rotation spot, Jack Harris of the Los Angeles Times reports. Impact Price started 11 games and came out of the bullpen on 28 occasions for the Dodgers last season. He has been a starter for the vast majority of his big-league career, however, and it appears he could be used in that role more frequently in 2022. Los Angeles has Walker Buehler, Clayton Kershaw and Julio Urias locked into the top three spots in the rotation, with newly acquired Andrew Heaney favored to fill the fourth slot. However, with question marks surrounding the fate of Trevor Bauer (personal) and Dustin May (elbow) expected to miss most of the campaign, the fifth starting spot may be a competition between Tony Gonsolin, Mitch White and Price. Gonsolin would seem to have a leg up if that battle comes to pass -- he started in 13 of 15 regular-season appearances in 2021 and notched a 3.23 ERA across 55.2 frames -- but a strong spring by Price could feasibly catapult him into a rotation spot.
