Impact Lange turned in another scoreless outing, marking his 11th consecutive appearance without giving up a run while nabbing his fifth save of the campaign. He has bounced back from a poor start to the season, striking out at least one batter in every appearance since April 9 after failing to record a punchout in his first 3.2 innings. Though Lange has shown the ability to be a trustworthy closing option, save opportunities will likely come at a premium considering the Tigers are 13-17 and tout one of the least talented MLB rosters.

Eduardo Rodriguez - Tosses gem Thursday Rodriguez (3-2) earned the win Thursday, allowing two hits and one walk over eight scoreless innings against the Mets. He struck out nine.

Impact Rodriguez picked up his third win in his last four starts, fanning nine over eight scoreless innings. The 30-year-old has been off to a blazing start to 2023, holding a 1.81 ERA through six starts after finishing the last two seasons with a 4.05 and 4.74 ERA, respectively. Rodriguez has filled the role of Detroit's top arm thus far and has allowed just two runs over his last five starts (34.2 innings) while striking out 33 batters. The southpaw has also logged quality starts in four of his last five appearances and should remain a strong fantasy option until he shows otherwise.

Impact Outside of the low strikeout total, Lorenzen was great, and he was able to earn his first win of the year as the Tigers provided eight runs of support. The righty missed the first three weeks of the season with a groin injury and now has a 5.14 ERA across four starts. He's tentatively lined up to take the mound again Monday against Cleveland.

Tyler Alexander - Vultures first win of year Alexander (1-0) retired the lone batter he faced but earned the win in Game 1 of Wednesday's doubleheader against the Mets.

Impact Alexander was the ultimate vulture in this one, as he only threw a single pitch but escaped as the pitcher of record in Detroit's 6-5 comeback victory. The lefty hasn't been much of a fantasy factor this season out of the bullpen with a 5.17 ERA across 15.2 innings and he's yet to make any spot starts after starting 32 times the last two years.

Impact Baez's two games Wednesday were a good representation of his time in Detroit. He looked good in Game 1, going 2-for-3 with the home run, which was his first of the year, and all three runs scored. The shortstop then went 0-for-4 and left five runners on base in the nightcap. Baez is now batting .237 overall in 2023 and has been largely disappointing for fantasy managers dating back to last season, though he's shown flashes of promise.

He might be able to earn back some playing time behind the plate, though Haase can also play in the outfield, so the Tigers could continue to use both him and Rogers in a variety of alignments moving forward.

Wentz should stick in the rotation with the likes of Beau Brieske (elbow), Matt Manning (foot), Casey Mize (elbow) and Tarik Skubal (elbow) all out at the moment. Wentz is tentatively set to start again early next week against Cleveland, but he's not a particularly appealing fantasy option currently.
