Austin Meadows - No timeline for return Manager A.J. Hinch said Sunday there's no update on Meadows' (vertigo) status and that the team is "very concerned with what's going on," Jason Beck of MLB.com reports.

Impact The 26-year-old landed on the injured list early last week after experiencing dizziness, light-headedness and nausea, and he continues to recover at his home in Florida. Meadows won't be activated when first eligible this week, and it's unclear when he may be able to rejoin the team.

Akil Baddoo - Out with oblique injury Baddoo is on the 7-day injured list at Triple-A Toledo with an oblique strain, Cody Stavenhagen of The Athletic reports.

Impact The 23-year-old hasn't seen game action with Toledo since May 13 and is unavailable due to the injury. It's unclear exactly how long Baddoo is expected to be sidelined.

Elvin Rodriguez - Promoted, starting Monday Rodriguez was recalled from Triple-A Toledo on Sunday and is scheduled to start Monday against the Guardians.

Impact The 24-year-old made the Opening Day roster and pitched in one game for Detroit before being sent to Toledo, and he'll now rejoin the big-league club. Rodriguez has a 3.57 ERA, 1.44 WHIP and 21:13 K:BB over 22.2 innings at Triple-A this year, and he'll now receive a look in the Tigers' starting rotation with the unit sustaining yet another injury. Impact Shortly after Rodriguez was pulled from his start in Wednesday's loss to the Rays with left side discomfort, manager A.J. Hinch noted that the lefty would require a trip to the IL. The Tigers delayed making the move while awaiting the results of his MRI, which evidently revealed no oblique strain but instead an injury to his ribcage. Detroit has yet to reveal a timeline for Rodriguez's return as a result of the diagnosis, but he won't be eligible to come off the IL until early June regardless.

Spencer Torkelson - Drives in lone run Friday Torkelson went 1-for-2 with a double and an RBI in Friday's 6-1 loss to the Guardians.

Impact For the second straight game, the Tigers scored just one run, and in both of those contests, Torkelson provided the offense. On Wednesday, he blasted a solo home run, while on Friday it was a sacrifice fly in the seventh inning. Despite Detroit's struggles overall, the rookie is starting to show some signs of life. Over his past six games, Torkelson is slashing .353/.368/.647 with a home run and three RBI. That looks a lot better than his .179/.290/.321 line overall.

Impact Starter Tarik Skubal was hit by a comebacker at the end of the fifth inning and exited the game with a left leg contusion. The lefty hadn't allowed a run while he was in there, but Barnes immediately changed that. The righty allowed four straight hits to start the frame, with the final blow a three-run home run by Jose Ramirez. The poor outing raised Barnes' ERA from 1.93 to 4.20. That's more in line with his career 4.58 ERA, so Barnes was probably pitching a bit over his head to start the season.
