Supplants Pederson in outfield Rosario will start in left field and bat eighth Wednesday against the Rockies. Impact For the second straight game, Rosario will draw a start against a right-handed starting pitcher (Antonio Senzatela) while Joc Pederson sits. Since returning from the injured list in late August, Rosario has slashed .222/.293/.556 in 15 games, and that looks like it'll be enough for him to maintain a near-everyday role in the outfield over Pederson, who has provided a meager .616 OPS since the start of August. Given that both players hit from the left side of the plate, a platoon between the two isn't a viable solution, so Rosario should get a full run of regular at-bats over the final weeks of the season.
