Shows off new swing White (elbow) went 0-for-2 with a walk and a run scored Friday's spring game against the Royals. Impact White served as the designated hitter and will likely continue to do so, as he strengthens the elbow for throwing. The game action was a chance for the righty hitter to unveil his new swing, Kennedi Landry of MLB.com reports. "I'm trying to stay through the ball more and not so much rotational like around the ball," White said. The goal is reduce the frequency of batted balls that are pulled and direct more hits to center and right field. A one-time prospect, the 27-year-old White hasn't done much against big-league pitching since making his debut in 2020, owing a career .179/.254/.293 slash line. He is not expected to be ready for Opening Day.
