Picks up 39th save Clase picked up the save in Saturday's 4-2 win over Texas. He allowed one run on one hit over one inning.

Impact After getting Leody Taveras to ground out to start the inning, Clase served up a solo home run to Sam Huff in the next at-bat. However, the right-hander was able to get the final two batters to ground out to close the game and earn his league-leading 39th save. Clase has recorded nine saves so far this month.

Extends saves lead Clase secured his 38th save of the season Friday against the Rangers, striking out one batting in a scoreless inning but allowing two hits and a hit by pitch.

Impact Clase entered the bottom of the ninth with a 6-3 lead, but he did his best to keep things interesting. He retired the first two batters of the game before giving up singles to Corey Seager and Nathaniel Lowe and hitting Adolis Garcia on the wrist. Josh Jung grounded out to end the game, however, allowing Clase to open up a two-save lead over Kenley Jansen atop the leaderboard.

Tallies 37th save Clase earned a save against the White Sox on Thursday, striking out one batter in a perfect inning.

Impact Cleveland carried a two-run lead into the ninth frame and, as expected, handed the ball to Clase. The right-hander needed just 12 pitches (eight of which were strikes) to set down the side in order. Clase has picked up seven saves in nine chances in September and leads the league with 37 saves overall this season.

Impact Clase has proven mortal in September, allowing five runs (three earned) across 10 innings, taking two blown saves in eight chances. While he stumbled in the 10th inning Tuesday, the Guardians exploded for five runs in the 11th to put him in position for the win. The 24-year-old still has a sparkling 1.39 ERA, 0.74 WHIP and 66:10 K:BB through 64.2 innings. He's 36-for-40 in save chances.
