Manning right field in return Padres general manager A.J. Preller said Tatis (shoulder) will be activated from the 10-day injured list Sunday and will start in right field and bat leadoff in the Padres' series... Impact After being placed on the IL on July 31 following his latest setback with his dislocated left shoulder, Tatis began working out in the outfield in recent days, likely as a means of limiting the strain on his shoulder upon rejoining the roster. Though the inflammation in Tatis' shoulder has calmed down during his stint on the shelf, offseason surgery to address the matter once and for all remains a possibility for the 22-year-old. Even so, Tatis proved earlier this season that he could play at a high level with his left shoulder at less than 100 percent, so fantasy managers should have no qualms about activating him ahead of the Padres' upcoming six-game week. It's unclear if he'll end up filling a permanent role in right field now that he's been activated, but if Tatis does play regularly at the position the rest of the way, he'll likely carry eligibility at both shortstop and outfield in the majority of fantasy leagues entering 2022.
