Impact Freeman has been away from the Dodgers for the past eight games to be with his wife and his ailing three-year-old son, Maximus, who was recently diagnosed with Guillain-Barre syndrome. After revealing in a social media post Sunday that Maximus has been discharged from the hospital and is on the road to recovery, Freeman looks set to rejoin the lineup soon. Freeman will address the media Monday, but the Dodgers haven't yet confirmed that the 34-year-old will be formally activated ahead of the series opener with the Phillies. It's possible that the Dodgers may want Freeman to take another day or two to get acclimated to baseball activities before reinstalling him as their everyday first baseman.
