Marco Gonzales - Takes hard-luck lossGonzales (3-5) allowed two runs on five hits and a walk with two strikeouts in 7.1 innings, taking the loss Sunday versus the Astros.
ImpactGonzales gave up a second-inning solo shot to Jeremy Pena. He also allowed a ground rule double to Martin Maldonado in the eighth, and Paul Sewald allowed the inherited runner to score the game-deciding run. This was Gonzales' longest start of the season and one of his best -- he's faced the Astros three times this year and turned in a quality start each time. Overall, the 30-year-old southpaw has a 3.55 ERA, 1.40 WHIP and 29:17 K:BB in 50.2 innings across 10 starts. He lines up to face the Rangers on the road next weekend.

Michael Brantley - Notches steal SundayBrantley went 1-for-3 with a stolen base and a walk in Sunday's 2-1 win over the Mariners.
ImpactAt 35 years old, it's no surprise Brantley isn't running as often as he used to -- this was his second attempt and first successful steal of the year. The veteran outfielder hasn't attempted more than five steals since 2018, so any speed contributions are icing on the cake. With the bat, he's hit safely in eight of the last 10 games, going 8-for-31 (.258) in that span. He's posted a steady .280/.367/.408 slash line with three home runs, 16 RBI, 16 runs scored, nine doubles and a triple in 42 contests this season.

Jeremy Peña - Pops eighth homerPena went 1-for-4 with a solo home run in Sunday's 2-1 win over the Mariners.
ImpactPena went deep off Mariners starter Marco Gonzales in the second inning. That was Pena's fourth homer in May and his eighth long ball of the year. The shortstop has been steady with a .290/.340/.510 slash line, 23 RBI, 22 runs scored, three stolen bases, six doubles and a triple through 159 plate appearances in his first big-league season.

Ryan Pressly - Hangs on for savePressly allowed a hit and two walks while striking out one in a scoreless inning to earn the save in Sunday's 2-1 win over the Mariners.
ImpactPressly loaded the bases with one out, but he got Luis Torrens to ground into a double play to end the threat. This was Pressly's fourth straight appearance with a save over the last eight days, and he's riding a 6.2-inning scoreless streak. The Astros' closer is at a 2.45 ERA, 1.27 WHIP and 9:4 K:BB across 11 innings while going 8-for-10 in save chances in 12 outings.

Luis Garcia - Quality start in no-decisionGarcia allowed a run on four hits and a walk with six strikeouts in six innings in a no-decision versus the Mariners on Sunday.
ImpactGarcia hadn't completed six innings in any of his last three starts, so this was an encouraging bounce-back outing after a couple of losses. The Astros' offense didn't supply enough offense to earn him a win, as the 25-year-old gave up a game-tying RBI single to Ty France in the sixth inning. It's been a solid year overall for Garcia, who owns a 3.14 ERA, 1.07 WHIP and 51:15 K:BB in 48.2 innings across nine starts. He'll carry a 3-3 record into a road start in Kansas City next weekend.
