Impact Compared to some of his teammates, Lamb had a rather pedestrian Sunday, but he still made a contribution in the blowout win. Lamb turned in a modest line (0-for-2 with a walk) in Tuesday's 5-1 win, but that looks like it'll be enough to keep him ahead of Smith on the depth chart for now. Since being called up from Triple-A Buffalo in mid-August, Smith has gone 3-for-30 (.100 average) while striking out at a 29.4 percent clip.

Impact Lamb was designated for assignment by the White Sox on Wednesday, but he'll find a spot on Toronto's 40-man roster. The 30-year-old was on the active roster for nearly a month after he was reinstated from the injured list in early August but saw sporadic playing time.
