Impact With a lefty on the bump, Luplow was in the lineup and batting second. He scored Arizona's lone run in the eighth inning after stealing second and third base. At the time, it put Arizona up, 1-0, but Mark Melancon blew the save. Luplow has three steals, matching his MLB high in swipes set in 2019 as a member of Cleveland. He's appeared in eight of Arizona's nine games since being activated, starting five times while going 5-for-21 with two home runs, two walks, five RBI, four runs and a stolen base. Arizona likely envisioned the righty-hitting Luplow filling the short side of a platoon in the outfield, but the ongoing struggles of designated hitter Seth Beer and first baseman Christian Walker have allowed Luplow to push for more work against right-handed pitching.
