Impact Berrios was zoned in for the first four innings, allowing just a shallow single to Alex Verdugo, but completely fell apart in the fifth frame. The 26-year-old allowed four of the first five batters to reach and walked in a run with the bases loaded before his day came to an early end. Tyler Duffey came in to replace him, struck out the first man he faced, but eventually allowed all three inherited runners to score and had to give way to yet another reliever to get the final out of the inning. Berrios has been excellent for the most part to begin the year and will look to get back on track against the Athletics on Tuesday.

Impact Despite not getting the nod for Opening Day, Berrios did take the mound for Minnesota's home opener Thursday. After finding success in his last outing, holding the Brewers hitless over six frames while tying a career-high 12 strikeouts, Berrios found a way to miss bats once again, sending eight down on strikes this time. The 26-year-old was pulled in the sixth inning after tossing his 99th pitch, falling just shy of a quality start. Berrios will look to remain undefeated at home Wednesday against the Red Sox.

Impact The 26-year-old made 12 starts during the shortened season and had a 4.00 ERA, 1.32 WHIP and 68:26 K:BB over 63 innings. Berrios increased his fastball velocity a full tick to 94.3 mph, though that helped result in his highest walk rate (9.6 percent) since his rookie season.
