Jake Bauers - Slides into large-side platoon roleBauers will start in left field and bat ninth Sunday against the Royals.
ImpactAfter Jake Fraley (shoulder) was placed on the 10-day injured list Saturday, Bauers appears set to fill the large side of a platoon in left field with Dylan Moore. Since being acquired via trade from Cleveland on June 10, Bauers has hit .253 with one home run, 10 RBI, 15 runs and four stolen bases in 52 games.

Kyle Seager - Rejoins lineupSeager (back) will start at third base and bat third Sunday against the Royals.
ImpactSeager sat out Saturday's 4-2 loss with back tightness, but the Mariners never seemed concerned that the issue would result in him missing additional action. Assuming Seager comes out of his Sunday's series finale without any setbacks, fantasy managers can probably feel comfortable with keeping him in lineups ahead of the Mariners' upcoming six-game week.

Carlos Santana - Sitting in second straight gameSantana (hip) is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Mariners.
ImpactAfter missing three straight games with a Grade 1 right hip flexor, Santana returned to the lineup for Friday's 8-7 win in 12 innings, but he aggravated the injury in that contest and will now be on the bench for the second day in a row. Hunter Dozier will fill in at first base for Santana, who should be viewed as day-to-day heading into the Royals' upcoming six-game week.

Casey Sadler - Solid since paternity list returnSadler has fired two scoreless innings during which he's allowed a hit and a walk while recording a strikeout in his first two appearances back from the paternity list.
ImpactThe right-handed reliever was called upon both Friday and Saturday and delivered a scoreless frame on each occasion. It's a matter of Sadler simply picking up where he left off before his brief absence, as he hasn't allowed an earned run since July 25, a span of 13 appearances.

Jarred Kelenic - Multi-hit effort in lossKelenic went 2-for-4 in a loss to the Royals on Saturday.
ImpactKelenic's big-league trajectory still clearly has a two-steps-forward-one-step-back quality to it that's undoubtedly maddening to his fantasy managers, but there are some signs of hope. Kelenic saw a quick three-game hitting streak snapped Friday with an abysmal 0-for-6, three-strikeout performance, but his ability to bounce back Saturday with his second two-hit effort in four games was encouraging. The Mariners are clearly intent on letting Kelenic work through his extensive struggles versus big-league pitching by affording him an everyday spot, which could well pay off in the long run given his elite talent.
