Impact The right-hander needed just 10 pitches to produce two flyballs and a comebacker by Ben Rortvedt that Yates knocked down before calmly throwing out the Tampa Bay backstop. Yates still has yet to blow a save chance this season, and he's been tagged with just one earned run over his last 16 appearances, posting a 0.60 ERA, 0.93 WHIP and 26:7 K:BB through 15 innings over that dominant stretch.

Secures extra-inning win Yates (3-0) earned the win after he pitched two scoreless innings, allowing a walk while striking two batters in Sunday's 3-2 extra-inning win over the Royals.

Impact Yates entered the game in the bottom of the eighth inning with the Rangers trailing 2-1 and he was able to work around a walk to keep it a one-run deficit going into the ninth. After Texas tied it up at 2-2, the right-hander returned for the following frame, setting the Royals down in order. The Rangers went on to win it in the 10th inning, earning Yates his third victory of the year. The 37-year-old has yet to allow an earned run this season while posting a 0.50 WHIP with five saves over 14 innings in 12 appearances.

PIcks up extra-inning save Yates picked up the save Monday against Philadelphia, striking out two in a perfect inning.

Impact Closer Raisel Iglesias entered the ninth with a save opportunity but allowed the Phillies to tie the game and send it to extras. When Atlanta reclaimed the lead, Yates needed only 14 pitches to slam the door and earn his fourth save of the season. While save opportunities are rare, Yates holds a 2.75 ERA and 1.17 WHIP with 75 strikeouts in 55.2 innings as he maintains a high-leverage role in the backend of the Atlanta bullpen.
