May not start Wednesday Texas manager Chris Woodward would not commit to Allard starting Wednesday against Oakland, Sam Blum of the Dallas Morning News reports.
Impact Allard has allowed 10 runs over the last 3.2 innings and didn't make it out of the first inning in his last start. When asked about Wednesday's starter, Woodward said, "we'll have to wait until after [Tuesday's] game, just to see where we stand pitching wise." That means if certain pitchers are not needed, there's a chance one of them could replace Allard. The most likely candidates are Wes Benjamin and Taylor Hearn, neither of whom pitched in Tuesday's loss to the Athletics.

Implodes in loss Allard (0-2) was charged with the loss against the Mariners on Friday, surrendering four runs on five hits and a pair of walks while striking out one and recording only two outs.
Impact It was a disaster of an outing for Allard, who failed to escape the first inning. It took the southpaw 38 pitches to record two outs before he was finally replaced with Wes Benjamin. His performance was especially disappointing after allowing six runs in three innings against the Rockies his last time out. Allard now owns a forgettable 7.82 ERA and 1.82 WHIP and will look to rebound Wednesday against Oakland.

Impact Allard struck out the side in the first inning and looked in command. However, things quickly took a turn for the worst in the second frame, as he allowed a three-run home run and subsequently allowed two more runs to cross the plate. Allard showed glimpses of promise, generating 10 swinging strikes in 65 pitches. He'll look to bounce back in his next start, currently projected to come Friday at Seattle.

Impact After David Fletcher greeted him with a leadoff double to begin the game, Allard settled in and retired 10 straight batters before issuing a free pass to Anthony Rendon in the fourth inning. The 22-year-old southpaw has been sharp since moving into the rotation, posting a 1.00 ERA and 9:3 K:BB through nine innings in his two starts, but Allard will face a tough task in his next outing Friday -- a road start in Coors Field.

Impact Allard wasn't incredibly impressive or efficient Sunday -- he needed 75 pitches to complete four innings -- but he got the job done. The lone run he allowed came from an Evan Longoria sacrifice fly in the second inning. Assuming Allard keeps his spot in the Rangers rotation, he'll get a home start against the Angels on Saturday.
