Impact Allard was taken deep four times in this one, with all four home runs going for solo blasts. The Athletics launched two off him in the second and then Matt Olson got to him twice more, once in the fourth and again in the sixth. It was the first time the 23-year-old left-hander has given up more than two homers in a game and just the second time he's given up more than three runs in an outing this season. Allard's record on the year doesn't reflect his overall performance, as he owns a 3.69 ERA, 1.07 WHIP and 61:13 K:BB over 63.1 innings.

Impact Allard had allowed just one run through five innings before things unraveled in the sixth. Three of the first four Detroit batters reached base before two runs came in on an error by Nate Lowe. Allard was then charged with two more runs after he was removed from the game. He was handed a third straight loss but still owns a 3.45 ERA and a 58:13 K:BB through 57.1 innings. The 23-year-old is projected for another home start this weekend against Oakland.

He allowed the first two batters to reach before Matt Chapman eventually scored on a sacrifice fly and Frank Schwindel launched a two-run homer to put the Rangers in an early 3-0 hole. Allard was unable to get any run support, which led to a second straight loss, as he was outdueled by Chris Bassitt despite posting his second quality start of the year. The 23-year-old has shown some potential this season with a 3.46 ERA, 1.08 WHIP and 49:11 K:BB over 52 innings. He should make for a nice streaming option in a matchup against the Tigers early next week.

Impact While Allard wasn't involved in the decision, this could easily be qualified as one of his best outings of the season -- he reached six innings for the first time all year long and also delivered his first quality start.
