Avoids arbitration with Colorado Freeland signed a one-year, $5.025 million contract with the Rockies on Friday to avoid arbitration, Robert Murray of FanSided.com reports.
Impact The left-hander rebounded last season with a 4.33 ERA, 1.42 WHIP and 46:23 K:BB over 70.2 inning after posting a 6.73 ERA in 2019. Freeland is essentially a lock to begin 2021 in Colorado's starting rotation.

Impact Freeland was fortunate to allow just a pair of runs in the first after allowing three hits and a walk to the first four Arizona hitters. He temporarily settled down to toss a scoreless second but completely unraveled in the third.
