Falls apart in fifth frame Gibson (10-7) took the loss against the Cubs on Tuesday, allowing four runs on five hits and no walks while striking out seven over five innings. Impact The veteran looked like he could be headed for a special night through four frames, as he retired the first 12 batters he faced, including seven by strikeout. Things took a drastic turn in the fifth, however, as Chicago touched Gibson up for five hits -- including two homers -- and crossed the plate four times. The disappointing frame resulted in the right-hander's second loss in his past three appearances and extended his streak of outings without a quality start to three. Gibson will look to get back on track the next time he takes the mound, which is currently slated to be Sunday in New York against the Mets.
