INJURIES

Struggles again Saturday Gibson (0-2) allowed five runs on seven hits and three walks while striking out four over four innings to take the loss Saturday versus the Angels.
Impact Gibson has been awful since he was called up April 29. He's pitched to a 13.11 ERA, 2.49 WHIP and 9:6 K:BB across 11.2 innings over three starts after signing with the Orioles in late March. The 37-year-old could be at risk of losing his place on the major-league roster when Zach Eflin (lat) returns Sunday, as Gibson hasn't done enough to warrant sticking around. However, it's also possible Gibson stays in the rotation since Charlie Morton pitched out of the bullpen Saturday, tossing two perfect innings. In any case, Gibson is not an option for the vast majority of fantasy managers given his current level of performance.

Struggles again in no-decision Gibson did not factor into the decision in Sunday's 11-6 loss to the Royals, allowing three runs on five hits and one walk with three strikeouts over four innings.
Impact Gibson allowed a solo home run in the second inning and a two-run single in the fourth. He generated 10 swinging strikes on 81 pitches and failed to exceed four frames for the second straight start since debuting Tuesday. The veteran hurler will carry a rough 14.09 ERA, 2.48 WHIP and 5:3 K:BB across 7.2 innings into a road matchup with the Angels next weekend.

Roughed up in 2025 debut Gibson (0-1) took the loss against the Yankees on Tuesday, allowing nine runs on 11 hits and two walks while striking out two over 3.2 innings.
Impact Gibson spent the first six weeks of the season getting stretched out in extended spring training and the minors after signing a one-year deal with the Orioles on March 21. His first start year couldn't have gotten off to a worse start, as the 37-year-old gave up three-straight home runs in the first inning before yielding a fourth to Cody Bellinger in the same frame. Gibson was mercifully pulled in the fourth inning after giving up a two-run double, tossing 73 pitches (44 strikes) with seven whiffs in his 2025 debut. He'll look to rebound in his next start, tentatively slated for next week on the road against the Twins.

Added to roster ahead of start The Orioles recalled Gibson from High-A Aberdeen on Tuesday.
Impact Gibson is set to make his season debut for the Orioles on Tuesday against the Yankees. The veteran right-hander had been getting ramped up with three starts in the minors after signing with the Orioles in late March, allowing six runs (five earned) with a 13:2 K:BB over 12 innings. Gibson threw 78 pitches and went five innings in his last start with Aberdeen, so he should be able to handle around 90 pitches Tuesday.

Impact Gibson has been getting ramped up with three starts in the minors after signing with the Orioles in late March. He dealt with some back tightness in his last outing at Aberdeen, but the veteran righty has bounced back well from that injury and is ready to join the Baltimore rotation. Gibson threw 78 pitches and went five innings in his last start, so he should be available for close to a full workload Tuesday.
APRIL 28 • ROTOWIRE
Likely to debut Tuesday Gibson (back) is expected to be called up from High-A Aberdeen to make his Orioles debut Tuesday against the Yankees at Camden Yards, Roch Kubatko of MASNSports.com reports.
Impact Because Gibson didn't sign a one-year, $5.25 million deal with the Orioles until spring training had already wrapped up, he agreed to begin the season in the minors to continue building up his pitch count. The right-hander turned in a 3.75 ERA, 1.00 WHIP and 13:2 K:BB over 12 innings across his three outings in the minors, though he hasn't pitched since April 20 after developing back tightness following his appearance with Aberdeen that day. The Orioles don't view that injury as a major concern, however, and since Gibson covered five innings and 78 pitches in his final minor-league outing, he should be ready to take on something close to a traditional starter's workload in his 2025 big-league debut. Though Gibson has never been a major fantasy contributor, the 37-year-old right-hander's ability to competently eat innings should prove valuable to an Orioles rotation that has been decimated by injuries and has received poor performances from veterans Charlie Morton and Dean Kremer through the first month of the season.
APRIL 28 • ROTOWIRE
Back tightness in last minors start Gibson dealt with some back tightness during his last start with High-A Aberdeen on Sunday, Jim Hayes of FanDuel Sports Network reports.
Impact Gibson indicated that he feels ready to join the Orioles' rotation, so it doesn't sound as if the back issue he had is a big deal. However, it could have contributed to the Orioles choosing Brandon Young -- rather than Gibson -- to start Friday's game in Detroit. It's not clear whether Gibson will make another start in the minors first, but he's a good bet to join the Orioles' rotation sometime next week. The 37-year-old has been ramping up in the minors after signing with Baltimore late in spring training.
APRIL 24 • ROTOWIRE
Covers five innings in rehab start Gibson struck out five and allowed two runs (one earned) on one hit and two walks over five innings Sunday in his start with High-A Aberdeen.
Impact Due to his late signing with the Orioles, Gibson didn't appear in any Grapefruit League games and was optioned to the minors to start the season so that he could continue building up. He's now made three starts between stops with Triple-A Norfolk and Aberdeen, accruing a 3.75 ERA, 1.00 WHIP and 13:2 K:BB in 12 innings. After tossing 78 pitches (51 strikes) in his latest start with Aberdeen, Gibson may need just one more start in the minors before the Orioles deem him ready to join the big-league rotation.
