David Fletcher - Quiet start to rehab assignment Fletcher (hip) has gone 1-for-8 with a run scored through three rehab games with Triple-A Salt Lake.
Impact Fletcher kicked off the rehab assignment Tuesday, and he's had an uneventful three games thus far. The good news is that the utility man, who underwent surgery to repair the adductor muscles in both legs May 10, was able to play three straight days without suffering any setbacks, starting twice at second base and once as the designated hitter. Fletcher is expected to be ready to return to the Angels on July 28.

Mike Trout - Plans to play Saturday Trout (back) and interim manager Phil Nevin both expect the outfielder to be in the lineup Saturday against the Dodgers, Jeff Fletcher of The Orange County Register reports.
Impact The 30-year-old hasn't seen the field since exiting Tuesday's matchup with the Astros due to upper-back spasms, but he's expected to be back in action Saturday for the Halos' final game before the All-Star break. However, it's worth noting the team also expected him back in the lineup Friday before he ultimately sat out, so it's certainly not a sure thing Trout will return to the starting nine. He'll be evaluated again Saturday morning to determine his availability.

Brandon Marsh - Prevents shutout Friday Marsh went 1-for-3 with a solo home run in Friday's 9-1 loss to the Dodgers.
Impact Marsh allowed the Angels to avoid a shutout, taking Dodgers reliever Reyes Moronta deep in the ninth inning. Marsh's homer was the Angels' second hit of the game after Clayton Kershaw allowed only one hit in eight innings. Through 12 contests in July, Marsh has gone 6-for-35 (.171), so he could be at risk of losing playing time to Jo Adell once Mike Trout (back) is ready to rejoin the starting nine. For the season, Marsh is slashing .224/.279/.342 with seven long balls, 34 RBI, 30 runs scored and seven stolen bases in 82 games.

The 25-year-old southpaw now has a 3.00 ERA, 1.43 WHIP and 87:37 K:BB through 81 innings in 15 starts overall. He's given up 10 runs (eight earned) in 16 innings in July.
