Anthony Rendon - Fields grounders Monday Rendon (wrist) took grounders before batting practice Monday, but a timetable for his return remains uncertain, the Associated Press reports.

Impact Rendon has been showing improvement, and a recent medical evaluation indicated that he is healing as expected. The third baseman went on the 10-day injured list with right wrist inflammation May 27 and is eligible to return, but it appears that he'll need additional time before rejoining the big-league club. It's uncertain if Rendon will need to go on a rehab assignment once he's able to play.

Jhonathan Diaz - Returns to minors The Angels optioned Diaz to Triple-A Salt Lake on Friday.

Impact As anticipated, Diaz was sent back to the minors one day after serving as the Angels' 27th man in the team's doubleheader Thursday with the Yankees. He appeared in long relief in the Angels' 6-1 loss in Game 1, covering four innings and striking out two while giving up two earned runs on four hits.

Mike Trout - Mired in career-worst slump Trout has gone 0-for-26 with nine strikeouts over his past seven games.

Impact A 3-for-4 performance against Toronto on May 28 had Trout's season batting average up to .320, but that number has tumbled all the way down to .274 as a result of the superstar's hitless streak. According to Mike DiGiovanna of the Los Angeles Times, the 0-for-26 slump is the worst of Trout's storied career. Despite his recent struggles, Trout's .953 OPS on the season still ranks 10th in the majors.

Impact Sandoval escaped two separate bases-loaded threats through four scoreless frames but his luck finally ran out in the fifth.
