Teoscar Hernández - Dealing with back sorenessHernandez was scratched from the lineup for Sunday's spring game against the Royals due to back soreness, Shannon Drayer of Seattle Sports 710 AM reports.
ImpactManager Scott Servais downplayed the issue and said the 30-year-old could be back in the lineup for Monday's matchup with the White Sox. The Mariners could just be exercising caution early in spring training, and Hernandez should be considered day-to-day.

Andrew Velazquez - In Sunday's lineupVelazquez (knee) is starting at shortstop and batting ninth in Sunday's spring game against the White Sox, Jeff Fletcher of The Orange County Register reports.
ImpactVelazquez underwent surgery to repair a torn meniscus in his right knee in September but is ready for Cactus League action. The 28-year-old had a .540 OPS in 125 games last season and should serve as a reserve shortstop for the Angels in 2023.

Mickey Moniak - Starting in right fieldMoniak (hand) will bat sixth and play right field in Saturday's Cactus League contest against the Mariners.
ImpactMoniak missed nearly half of last season with a pair of fractures, one in his right wrist and another in his left middle finger. He ended the year on the injured list after getting hit on the hand again, but that issue doesn't appeared to have carried over into the start of this season. Still just 24 years old, the 2016 first-overall pick will compete for a bench outfield spot in camp. His career .157/.218/.268 line in 66 MLB games doesn't give much reason for optimism.
