J.P. Crawford - Still looking for first spring hitCrawford, who drew two walks and scored a run in his two plate appearances during Thursday's Cactus League win over the Angels, is now 0-for-9 over his first six exhibitions.
ImpactThe veteran has three base on balls overall, but that's been the extent of his offensive production. Crawford's early struggles aside, he's once again being counted on to hold down the fort on a near everyday basis at shortstop after slugging a career-high 19 home runs and driving in a career-best 65 RBI a season ago. The power surge helped Crawford produce a career-high .818 OPS as well, although there will be some doubt as to his ability to replicate those numbers after previously having failed to top nine homers in any season.

Jack Kochanowicz - Optioned to Triple-AKochanowicz was optioned to Triple-A Salt Lake by the Angels on Friday.
ImpactKochanowicz made a couple scoreless Cactus League appearances but that wasn't enough to keep him from being an early cut. The right-hander is in need of more seasoning after posting a 5.27 ERA in 21 starts between High-A Tri-City and Double-A Rocket City in 2023.

Charles Leblanc - Reassigned to MiLB campLeblanc was reassigned to minor league camp Thursday.
ImpactLeblanc had signed a minor league deal with the Angels in November. He spent all of 2023 with the Marlins' Triple-A affiliate. The infielder slashed .252/.384/.423 with 12 home runs and four steals in 94 games in the International League.

Jimmy Herget - Optioned to Triple-AThe Angels optioned Herget to Triple-A Salt Lake on Thursday.
ImpactHerget had allowed one run in four innings while striking out six batters during spring training, but the Angels will send him back down to Triple-A for Opening Day. Herget posted a 4.66 ERA and 1.41 WHIP across 29 frames in the majors last season, and he could very well be one of the first arms promoted if the Angels' bullpen depth is tested during the season.
