Chris Rodríguez - Spring training status uncertainGeneral manager Perry Minasian said Monday that Rodriguez (lat) might not be ready for spring training in 2022, Sam Blum of The Athletic reports.
ImpactRodriguez suffered a right lat strain in mid-August, and his recovery hasn't progressed as quickly as the team had hoped. The right-hander got his first taste of major-league action in 2021 and recorded a 3.64 ERA and 1.45 WHIP in 29.2 innings across 15 appearances (two starts) prior to his injury.

Jack Mayfield - Swipes two bags SundayMayfield went 2-for-4 with a walk, an RBI and two stolen bases in Sunday's 7-3 victory versus the Mariners.
ImpactMayfield was one of three Angels to knock multiple hits in the season finale, and he plated the team's second run with an infield single in the first inning. The 31-year-old began the campaign in the minors and was DFA'd by both the Angels and Mariners during the season. However, he became a bright spot for Los Angeles after he latched back on with the club in mid-June, eventually claiming a role as the club's starting third baseman. Mayfield collected at least one hit in 11 of his final 12 contests, slashing .280/.315/.400 with a home run, 11 RBI and three stolen bases over that stretch.

Phil Gosselin - Tallies three hits, stolen baseGosselin went 3-for-5 with two runs and a stolen base in Sunday's 7-3 win over Seattle.
ImpactGosselin capped his most successful campaign as a major-leaguer with his first three-hit game since Aug. 19. The veteran saw the most playing time of his nine-year big-league career in 2021, registering career-high marks in homers (seven), RBI (47), runs (40) and stolen bases (four).

J.P. Crawford - Plates pair in finaleCrawford went 2-for-5 with a run scoring single and an RBI fielder's choice groundout in a loss to the Angels on Sunday.
ImpactCrawford offered one more solid effort out of the leadoff spot before the Mariners' season went officially in the books. The veteran shortstop has to especially bemoan the fact Seattle won't play further into October, as he generated an outstanding .357/.410/.518 slash line with six doubles, a home run, six RBI, four walks, a hit by pitch and nine runs over his final 13 games. The late-season surge left him with a career-best .273 average, while his .338 on-base percentage and .376 slugging percentage were both the second-best totals of his five big-league seasons.
