Won't return this week The Twins don't plan to reinstate Pineda (oblique) from the 10-day injured list this week, Phil Miller of the Minneapolis Star Tribune reports.
Impact Pineda threw a 35-pitch bullpen session over the weekend and appears to be making good progress in his recovery from a left oblique strain, but the Twins may want to see him face hitters in a simulated game before signing off on activating him. While Pineda remains on the shelf, the Twins are expected to add two new starters to the mix this week in Joe Ryan (Wednesday against the Cubs) and Randy Dobnak (Friday against the Rays).
