Christian Yelich - Scratched with back issue Yelich was scratched from Tuesday's lineup due to mid back tightness, Adam McCalvy of MLB.com reports.
Impact Yelich has a history of back issues, so his removal from the lineup raises an eyebrow. However, until more information is released, it's possible the Brewers are simply taking the cautious route. Jonathan Davis will replace Yelich in the outfield, and Kolten Wong will take his place atop the batting order.

Chi Chi González - Loses 40-man roster spot The Brewers designated Gonzalez for assignment Tuesday.
Impact Since Gonzalez doesn't have minor-league options remaining, he'll come off both the 40-man roster and 26-man active roster with the Brewers needing to clear room on the latter roster for outfielder Hunter Renfroe (calf), who was reinstated from the 10-day injured list. After being claimed off waivers from the Twins on June 14, Gonzalez made four appearances (two starts) for Milwaukee, giving up eight earned runs on 12 hits and four walks over 11.1 innings.

Hunter Renfroe - Makes return from IL The Brewers reinstated Renfroe (calf) from the 10-day injured list ahead of Tuesday's game in Minnesota.
Impact Adam McCalvy of MLB.com reported over the weekend that Renfroe was unlikely to make it back from the IL until the Brewers' final series before the All-Star break in San Francisco, but the 30-year-old will end up returning to action a couple days earlier than anticipated. He didn't require a minor-league rehab assignment while he was on the shelf, as the Brewers were evidently encouraged enough by how Renfroe's strained left calf responded to running and outfield work. Renfroe is expected to settle into an everyday role in the outfield, leaving fewer opportunities available for the likes of Jace Peterson, Keston Hiura and Jonathan Davis.

Josh Hader - Not on bereavement Hader is actually not on the bereavement list, but he won't be attending the All-Star Game, Curt Hogg of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reports.
Impact MLB Public Relations had made an error in its announcement about Carlos Rodon replacing Hader on the All-Star roster. Hader will be available in Milwaukee's bullpen through the end of the week and after the break as well, barring injury.

Impact It's unclear whether the star closer will rejoin the Brewers before the break. Hader has uncharacteristically allowed an earned run in three straight starts, but he still has a 1.88 ERA and 0.91 WHIP thanks to his excellent work overall.

Impact Mitchell missed approximately two months of action for the Double-A club while he recovered from the oblique strain. He was cleared to rejoin Biloxi after going 1-for-12 with a double, four walks and a stolen base during his four-game rehab assignment in the rookie-level Arizona Complex League that concluded Monday.

Angel Perdomo - Working back from hand fracture Perdomo (hand) will begin a rehab assignment with the Brewers' rookie-level Arizona Complex League affiliate Tuesday.
Impact Perdomo has resided on Triple-A Nashville's injured list since April 12, when he was shut down after sustaining a "boxer's fracture" of his left hand, per Adam McCalvy of MLB.com. After making 22 appearances out of the big-league bullpen between the 2020 and 2021 seasons, Perdomo will have to enjoy a period of sustained success once active at Nashville before he gets another call-up to Milwaukee. Before rejoining Nashville, he'll likely make several appearances in the lower rungs of the minors.

Impact Alexander will be making his second straight turn through the rotation and his seventh start with the big club overall, despite being tagged for seven runs (six earned) across 5.1 innings his last time out July 5 against the Cubs. With Adrian Houser (elbow) on the shelf through the All-Star break, Alexander tentatively lines up for two starts this week, with his second outing set to come Sunday in San Francisco.

Freddy Peralta - Completes bullpen session Peralta (lat) threw a bullpen session Friday and told Sophia Minnaert of Bally Sports Wisconsin that he felt good following the workout.
Impact Peralta said he will throw one more bullpen session during the upcoming week before likely graduating to throwing live batting practice, if all goes well. After that, Peralta could head out on a rehab assignment at some point during the upcoming All-Star break, and he'll likely need at least two or three outings to get stretched back out for starting duty because he's been sidelined since late May with a strained right shoulder. Peralta is seemingly tracking toward an early-August return from the 60-day injured list.

Impact Davis singled, stole second and scored in the third and doubled and scored in the fifth. He was removed for a pinch hitter in the ninth inning with David Bednar on the mound. It was Davis' first multi-hit game since his season debut on June 18 and the double was his first extra-base hit of the season.
