Brice Turang - Hits bench versus leftyTurang is out of the lineup for Monday's game against the Reds.
ImpactThe lefty-hitting Turang will hit the bench against Reds southpaw Andrew Abbott, but the young infielder previously sat out the series opener Friday, when the Brewers opposed a right-hander (Graham Ashcraft). Turang still appears to have a tentative hold on a regular role in the middle infielder when the Brewers oppose righties, but with Luis Urias (hamstring) returning from the injured list Monday and Willy Adames (concussion) likely on track to be activated Thursday, Turang and Andruw Monasterio will both soon see their playing time second base and shortstop take a major hit.

Andruw Monasterio - In Monday's lineupMonasterio (head) will start at shortstop and bat second in Monday's game against the Reds.
ImpactMonasterio exited Sunday's 5-1 win early after being hit in the head on a tag play, but his removal from the contest was described as precautionary. The rookie's presence in the lineup a day later seemingly supports that sentiment, but Monasterio's playing time is soon expected to take a hit. Willy Adames (concussion) looks on track to return from the 7-day injured list Thursday, which will likely leave Monasterio as the odd man out of the Milwaukee infield.

Will Benson - Gets fourth consecutive startBenson will start in left field and bat eighth in Monday's game against the Brewers.
ImpactBenson will pick up a fourth consecutive start and appears to have moved ahead of Stuart Fairchild in the pecking order in the Cincinnati outfield behind Jake Fraley and Nick Senzel. The Reds currently have three outfielders residing on the injured list (TJ Friedl, Wil Myers and Henry Ramos), so Benson could end up losing out on steady playing time as soon as one of those three players are activated. Benson provided a lift for fantasy managers during the first three games of the series with Milwaukee, as he went 2-for-9 with three walks and three steals during those contests.

Stuart Fairchild - Remains on benchFairchild is not in the starting lineup Monday versus the Brewers.
ImpactFairchild will remain on the bench for a second consecutive game Monday. There's no reason to believe his starting role is in jeopardy though considering he had started 10 straight contests prior to Sunday. Nick Senzel will slide out to center field and bat fifth in the series finale with Milwaukee.

Darin Ruf - Moved to 60-day ILRuf (knee) was transferred to the 60-day injured list Monday.
ImpactThe laceration Ruf sustained last Friday when he collided with the tarp evidently must have been a serious one. He's now not eligible for activation until early August.

Mike Brosseau - Sent down to Triple-ABrosseau was optioned to Triple-A Nashville on Monday.
ImpactBrosseau had been on the roster primarily to hit lefties, but he had managed just a .571 OPS versus southpaws. He's clearing out to make room for Luis Urias' return.
