Gilberto Celestino - Swats first homer Celestino went 1-for-3 with a two-run home run and a walk in Friday's 4-0 win over the Angels.
Impact Celestino opened the scoring in the second inning with a homer off Angels starter Patrick Sandoval. This was Celestino's first long ball of the season and just the third of his major-league career in 98 games. The 23-year-old outfielder has seen his playing time slip with the Twins' outfield regaining some healthy bodies. He's slashing .273/.330/.341 with 12 RBI, 18 runs scored, seven doubles and a triple through 193 plate appearances. Celestino is likely to be limited to a short-side platoon role, though he could draw in on occasion when Byron Buxton receives a maintenance day.

Gio Urshela - Knocks homer in win Urshela went 3-for-4 with a solo home run, an additional run scored and a double in Friday's 4-0 win over the Angels.
Impact Urshela fell a triple shy of the cycle Friday, striking out in the eighth inning to miss achieving the feat. It was still one of his better games of late -- his last three-hit effort was July 6. The third baseman has a .268/.309/.439 slash line with 11 homers, 46 RBI, 40 runs scored, 18 doubles and two triples through 94 contests this year. Urshela should still see most of the playing time at third base now that he's moved past an ankle injury, but the hot-hitting Jose Miranda could also see some looks there.

Tyler Mahle - Earns first win with new team Mahle (6-7) earned the win Friday versus the Angels. He pitched six shutout innings, allowing three hits and two walks while striking out six.
Impact After getting tagged for three home runs versus Toronto in his Twins debut, Mahle put together a much more convincing encore against the Angels. This was his third quality start in his last four outings, with all three of those positive performances producing wins. The right-hander lowered his ERA to 4.26 with a 1.21 WHIP and 125:42 K:BB through 116.1 innings between the Twins and the Reds this year. He'll look to build off this effort next week in an enticing projected home start versus the Royals.
