Luis Arraez - Establishes new career high in HR Arraez went 1-for-4 with a solo home run in Saturday's 6-3 victory over the White Sox.

Impact Known primarily for his outstanding contact skills, Arraez is showing more pop than ever before this season. He now has a career-high five home runs after managing only two last year, and Arraez's slugging percentage (.451) is up more than 70 points from a year ago (.376).

Carlos Correa - Two-run homer in win Correa went 2-for-4 with a two-run home run in Saturday's 6-3 victory over the White Sox.

Impact Lance Lynn hung a breaking pitch in the middle of the zone and Correa did not miss. It was just Correa's second homer of July -- he entered Saturday's game with a .163/.302/.256 line across 12 games this month. However, after the two-hit effort Saturday, Correa is back up to .282/.357/.455 for the season. He has 11 home runs to go along with 33 RBI and 39 runs scored in 69 games.

Jhoan Duran - Completes two-inning save Duran picked up the save Saturday against the White Sox. He allowed three hits and zero walks while striking out three over two scoreless innings.

Impact His pitch count ticked up to 40 by the end -- a season high -- but Duran was able to get Tim Anderson to ground out to shut the door in the ninth. Duran now has six saves this season to go along with a dominant 51:8 K:BB over 42 innings, and with Emilio Pagan out of the closer role for Minnesota, Duran should have plenty of chances to add to his saves total in the second half.

Impact Polanco's homer was his sixth of July, bringing his total to 14 this season. He's slugging .638 this month and could be in store for another big second half. The middle infielder slashed .287/.329/.585 for Minnesota after the All-Star break last season.

Dylan Bundy - Beats White Sox for sixth win Bundy (6-4) earned the win Saturday, allowing three runs on five hits and one walk over 5.1 innings against the White Sox. He struck out three.

Impact Bundy filled up the strike zone, throwing 65 of 88 pitches for strikes. It wasn't the most dominant outing in terms of whiffs (eight swinging strikes), but Bundy was good enough within the zone to pick up a second straight win. The veteran has been a capable back-end starter for Minnesota this season (4.71 ERA, 1.27 WHIP), and he heads into the All-Star break on a nice little run, having quietly posted a 3.15 ERA over his last six starts.

Impact Reports from earlier in the week indicated Archer was on track to pitch in Sunday's first-half finale, and that's indeed what will happen. He'll wind up missing only the minimum 15 days due to hip tightness. Prior to the injury, Archer posted a 3.08 ERA in 15 starts, though his poor 17.9 percent strikeout rate and 11.5 percent walk rate told a different story.

Hunter Wood - Placed on injured list Wood was placed on the 7-day injured list at Triple-A St. Paul on Saturday due to a right forearm strain, Brandon Warne of Access Twins reports.

Impact Wood joined the Twins on a minor-league deal in May and posted a 2.08 ERA and 1.46 WHIP in 8.2 innings over eight relief appearances with the Triple-A club. The severity of his forearm strain isn't yet clear, but he'll be unavailable for at least a week.

Austin Martin - Injury not season-ending Martin still lacks an official diagnosis for his wrist injury, but it's not thought to be a season-ending issue, Aaron Gleeman of The Athletic reports.

Impact Martin suffered the injury, which was originally reported as an elbow issue, when diving for a ball back on July 1. He doesn't have a clear return date, but president of baseball operations Derek Falvey called it a medium-term issue Saturday. Prior to the injury, Martin had made plenty of contact and showed good control of the zone but hit for very little power. He walked 12.4 percent of the time while posting a 14.1 percent strikeout rate but homered just once in 63 games.

Ryan Jeffers - Set to miss extended time Jeffers has a small fracture in his right thumb and will be sidelined for at least 6-8 weeks, Megan Ryan of the Minneapolis Star Tribune reports.

Impact Jeffers was initially diagnosed with a right thumb contusion when he landed on the 10-day injured list Friday, but he underwent further testing that revealed a fracture. The 25-year-old is unlikely to be available to return to game action until at least September, and he'll presumably require a rehab assignment prior to rejoining the Twins. Gary Sanchez is in line to serve as Minnesota's primary catcher in Jeffers' absence, while Caleb Hamilton will serve as the No. 2 option behind the dish.

Manager Rocco Baldelli opted to remove the 26-year-old with the top of Chicago's order due up for a third time despite having tossed only 67 pitches -- his second lowest total in 12 turns. Smeltzer concludes the first half with a 4.02 ERA and 1.21 WHIP with 37 strikeouts in 62.2 innings.
