Impact The 28-year-old journeyman didn't earn a call-up to the Mets before the All-Star break, despite getting on base at a .392 clip while slugging 15 home runs and seven stolen bases across 342 plate appearances at Triple-A Syracuse. The banged-up Twins could have a greater need for a utility player like Bannon, though he'll most likely report to Triple-A St. Paul to begin his stint with a new organization.

Caden Kendle - Nabbed by Twins The Twins have selected Kendle with the 159th overall pick in the 2024 First-Year Player Draft.

Impact Kendle was taken in the 10th round last year but improved his stock by returning to UC Irvine. He hit .387/.479/.590 this spring with a nice combination of power and speed. At 5-foot-11, 200 pounds, the muscular Kendle gets some Tyler O'Neill body comps.

Jhoan Duran - Takes loss Sunday Duran (5-4) allowed an unearned run on one hit without retiring a batter to take the loss Sunday versus the Giants.

Impact Duran gave up a triple to Mike Yastrzemski to lead off the bottom of the ninth inning, and it turned into a run after Brooks Lee's relay throw ended up in the dugout. It's a tough way for Duran to take a loss, which also ended his 7.2-inning scoreless streak, but it won't hurt his ERA, which remains at 2.93 to go with a 0.98 WHIP and 29:10 K:BB through 30.2 innings. Since Duran was pitching in a tied game before giving up the run, he also will avoid taking his second blown save of the year, and his status as the Twins' primary closer is not in question.

Chris Paddack - Takes no-decision Sunday Paddack allowed two runs (one earned) on five hits and a walk while striking out six over five innings in a no-decision versus the Giants on Sunday.

Impact Paddack put in another decent effort, but he couldn't match Blake Snell's seven innings of one-hit ball. Paddack has allowed four runs (three earned) over 10 innings across two starts since he returned from a bout of arm fatigue. The right-hander has a 4.99 ERA, 1.39 WHIP and 79:21 K:BB over 88.1 innings through 17 starts this season. While his results aren't great, Paddack's spot in the rotation doesn't appear to be in any immediate danger since he's stabilized his pitching following his injured-list stint.

Impact Buxton is on the bench for a second straight contest to close out of the Twins' first-half schedule, but manager Rocco Baldelli hasn't suggested that an injury is behind the consecutive absences. However, Buxton notably collided with the outfield wall while pursuing a fly ball in Friday's 7-1 loss, and though he was able to finish the game, it's possible he could be dealing with some bumps and bruises. In any case, the Twins will take advantage of the upcoming All-Star break to build in some extended rest for Buxton, who hasn't been the most durable player over his career. Before sitting out Saturday's 4-2 win, Buxton had been swinging a hot bat in July, slashing .452/.500/.742 over eight games so far this month.

The updated diagnosis is somewhat worrisome considering that Correa contended with plantar fasciitis for a significant portion of the 2023 season, though that injury was to his left foot. According to Dan Hayes of The Athletic, Correa's latest case of plantar fasciitis isn't believed to be as severe as the one he dealt with in 2023, but the issue nonetheless makes it far from a lock that the veteran shortstop will be ready to go for the Twins' first game out of the All-Star break next Saturday versus the Brewers.

Impact Boushley will cede his spot on the 40-man roster to infielder Diego Castillo, whose contract was selected from Triple-A St. Paul ahead of Sunday's game against the Giants. Aside from making a two-inning relief appearance for the Twins on May 20, Boushley has spent the entire 2024 campaign at St. Paul, with whom he's produced a 4.68 ERA, 1.25 WHIP and 73:14 K:BB in 84.2 innings. If he goes unclaimed via waivers, Boushley should remain a member of the St. Paul rotation moving forward.

Jose Miranda - Officially lands on IL The Twins placed Miranda on the 10-day injured list Sunday with a low back strain.

Impact Miranda hadn't played since Wednesday due to the injury and will hit the shelf in advance of the Twins' final game before the All-Star break Sunday in San Francisco. Because the transaction is retroactive to Thursday, Miranda will be eligible to come off the IL as soon as next Sunday, when the Twins will play their second game coming out of the break. Until Miranda is back in the mix, the Twins should have a regular spot in the lineup against right-handed pitching available for Matt Wallner.
