Matt Wallner - Swats second homer Wallner went 2-for-4 with a two-run home run and a double in an 8-6 extra-innings win against the White Sox on Monday.
Impact Wallner was called up from Triple-A on Sunday and started in left field one day later. He belted a big homer in the seventh inning, clubbing a two-run shot to right field to tie the game 5-5. Wallner demonstrated his power potential last year with 14 home runs in 254 plate appearances with the Twins, and he has two long balls through 39 plate appearances this year but is slashing just .167/.333/.433.

Byron Buxton - Remains hot Monday Buxton went 3-for-5 with two doubles, a run and an RBI in Monday's 8-6 extra-innings win against the White Sox.
Impact Buxton doubled in a run in the fourth inning and scored an insurance run in the 11th after reaching on a single. He finished with his fourth straight multi-hit game and his eighth such effort over his past 12 contests. During that 12-game stretch, Buxton is batting a sizzling .467 (21-for-45) with five homers, eight doubles, 15 RBI and 15 runs. The impressive span has boosted his season batting average from.238 to .282.

Kody Funderburk - Records first career save Funderburk earned a save against the White Sox on Monday by pitching a perfect 11th inning.
Impact Primary closer Jhoan Duran was deployed to keep the game tied in the 10th frame, leaving Funderburk the opportunity to close things out after Minnesota scored twice in the top of the 11th. The southpaw was successful in doing so, retiring the side in order on 12 pitches. The save was Funderburk's first as a major-leaguer, but it's unlikely he sees many more opportunities with Duran and Griffin Jax locked in as the team's top high-leverage options.

Chris Paddack - Completes five frames in return Paddack allowed two runs on three hits and two walks while striking out three batters in a no-decision against the White Sox on Monday.
Impact Paddack was activated from the injured list ahead of the contest after missing over two weeks due to arm fatigue. The right-hander didn't seem to have any trouble with the issue in his return, tossing 78 pitches (54 for strikes) and allowing just five baserunners. Paddack did fade a bit near the end of the outing, though, as three of those baserunners reached in his final frame of work. Assuming he came out of the start fine, Paddack is in line to make his next start in San Francisco this weekend.

He's had increased velocity as the season has progressed, reaching a high of 101.1 mph with his fastball on July 7. There are some causes for concern, however, as before Monday he hasn't had a great strikeout rate (20.3%), has a worrisome walk rate (11.6%) and an unsustainable 1.128 BABIP. Still, he's become a dependable option in middle relief for the Twins.
