Stephen Ridings - Remains on IL Ridings (lat) remains on the Mets' 60-day injured list and moved his rehab assignment from Single-A St. Lucie to Triple-A Syracuse on Sunday.
Impact Anthony DiComo of MLB.com previously reported Thursday that Ridings was reinstated from the IL and optioned to Syracuse, but he'll instead remain off the Mets' 40-man roster for the time being while he continues his rehab program. The 27-year-old, who is working his way back from a lat strain, made three rehab appearances for St. Lucie before striking out the side in his lone inning of relief work Sunday in his Syracuse debut.

Eduardo Escobar - Swipes second bag Escobar went 1-for-3 with a walk, a triple, a run scored, an RBI and a stolen base in Sunday's loss to the Cardinals.
Impact Getting the start at third base against left-hander Matthew Liberatore and batting eighth, Escobar collected his second three-bagger and second steal of 2023. The veteran infielder lost his starting spot at the hot corner to Brett Baty earlier in the year, but with the rookie now struggling -- Baty's slashing .219/.301/.260 over his current 22-game homer drought -- the door could be opening a crack for Escobar to reclaim a more significant role if he can put together a productive stretch at the plate.

Tommy Pham - Swats seventh homer Pham went 1-for-4 with a two-run home run in Sunday's loss to the Cardinals.
Impact Getting the start as the designated hitter and batting fifth, Pham tied the game at 7-7 by taking Chris Stratton the other way in the fifth inning, but the Mets' bullpen faltered in the ninth. With Daniel Vogelbach getting another chance to re-establish himself, Pham will likely fall back into a short-side platoon role at DH while also seeing occasional action in the outfield despite a strong run in June that has seen the 35-year-old slash .311/.319/.689 through 47 plate appearances with four of his seven homers and 13 of his 27 RBI on the season.

Francisco Lindor - Celebrates Father's Day in style Lindor went 1-for-3 with a walk, a solo home run, a second run scored and a stolen base in Sunday's loss to the Cardinals.
Impact The shortstop missed his first start of the year Saturday after the birth of his second child, a healthy baby girl, early that morning. Sunday, Lindor returned to the starting nine and got the Mets on the board in the first frame by crushing a Matthew Liberatore fastball deep to left field. Lindor appears to be close to breaking out of his season-long malaise -- over his last 11 games he's batting just .212 (7-for-33), but that comes with two doubles, three homers, three steals and a 7:7 BB:K. The window for buying low on the 29-year-old could close soon.

Pete Alonso - Disappointing return to lineup Alonso went 0-for-4 with three strikeouts in Sunday's loss to the Cardinals.
Impact Making an early return from a bone bruise in his wrist he'd suffered July 7 after getting hit by a pitch, Alonso was back at first base and hitting cleanup but didn't appear to be quite 100 percent, as he also committed a fielding error in the seventh inning. Per Tim Britton of The Athletic, Alonso's early return -- the original timeline called for him to miss 3-4 weeks -- was mainly due to his ability to tolerate the pain, and the 28-year-old did claim he'd been able to swing a bat without discomfort for a couple days prior to his activation. Given his massive upside, most fantasy GMs won't have the luxury of keeping Alonso on their bench until he proves he's fully recovered, but he may need a little time to regain his power stroke.

José Quintana - Fans four in second rehab start Quintana (ribs) gave up two unearned runs on two hits over 3.1 innings for Single-A St. Lucie on Sunday. He struck out four without walking a batter.
Impact Saturday's game between St. Lucie and Palm Beach was suspended after one inning due to rain, so Quintana took the mound for the second inning when play resumed Sunday rather than starting the officially scheduled contest later in the day. The 34-year-old southpaw built up to 46 pitches (30 strikes), and assuming he stays on schedule his next rehab outing would come Friday, likely against stiffer competition. Quintana has yet to make his Mets debut after signing a two-year, $26 million contract with the team in the offseason, but he appears to be on track to join the big-league rotation in early July.

Impact Carrasco posted season-worst marks in innings completed and runs allowed during a disappointing outing. After a rough first start, the right-hander had been solid since coming off the injured list in mid-May, posting a 3.22 ERA and 1.39 WHIP over his past four starts, but he struggled again Sunday. It was the fourth time Carrasco has allowed at least five runs this season, and his ERA currently sits at 6.34. Regardless, Carrasco's spot in the rotation is secure for the time being, and his next start is lined up for a matchup in Philadelphia.
