Impact Yacabonis has only been on the 15-day IL for one week as he heals from a left quad strain. The 31-year-old figures to be an option again for the Mets around the time that he is first eligible for activation.

Impact Narvaez has been sidelined with a strained left calf since early April but is now nearing the point where he can return to game action. It's unclear how long the Mets plan on keeping him on assignment, but we'll likely know more as he recovers.

José Quintana - To undergo checkup scan Quintana (ribs) is scheduled to undergo a checkup CT scan Friday, Anthony DiComo of MLB.com reports.
Impact If the results show an encouraging level of healing, Quintana should be cleared to take the next step in his throwing program. He began playing catch on flat ground toward the end of April and would seem to be nearing mound workouts. The veteran left-hander required surgery in mid-March to repair a stress fracture on the left side of his rib cage and is not expected to make his Mets debut until closer to the midway point of the 2023 campaign.

Impact Carrasco threw 52 pitches over four scoreless innings in his second and final minor-league rehab start Sunday with Double-A Binghamton. Impact The 6-foot-5, 225-pound righty has a bulldog mentality, going right after hitters while filling up the zone. He uses his low-to-mid-90s four-seamer up in the zone and mixes in his slider and changeup down in the zone. Vasil is arguably already the Mets' best pitching prospect thanks to this excellent start to his age-23 season.

Francisco Álvarez - On base three times Monday Alvarez went 1-for-2 with two walks and a double in Monday's loss to the Nationals.
Impact Hitting ninth against veteran southpaw Patrick Corbin, Alvarez drew multiple free passes in a game for just the second time in his brief big-league career. The 21-year-old backstop is having a fairly productive May so far, batting .257 (9-for-35) with four doubles, two homers, four RBI and four runs in 40 plate appearances, and he appears to be earning manager Buck Showalter's trust with his defensive work as well.

Impact He had some trouble communicating in the outfield with Brandon Nimmo, resulting in multiple potential outs turning into extra-base hits for Washington, but Marte did his best to balance that out on offense. Impact Peterson has struggled in his second stint in the big leagues this year, allowing 10 runs over two starts (8.1 innings) while posting a 9:4 K:BB. The left-hander wasn't much better the first time around, surrendering 25 runs over six starts (30.2 innings).
