Lawrence Butler - Stays hot at dish Butler went 3-for-4 with a solo homer, a triple, a double, a walk, two RBI and two runs scored in Tuesday's 8-2 win over the Astros.

Impact Butler did a little bit of everything except notch a base hit to complete the cycle in Tuesday's big win. He began with a leadoff triple and later scored before swatting a 411-foot solo homer to right center in the third. Butler then laced an RBI-double in the sixth and then was walked in the eighth when he was just a single shy of the cycle. Over the Athletics' last 11 games, Butler is slashing a ridiculous .488/.543/1.122 with six homers, four doubles, two triples and 20 RBI. He now has six straight multi-hit games. This all comes after Butler was hitting just .179 with two home runs entering the month of July.

Zack Gelof - Goes yard in win Gelof went 1-for-4 with a solo home run in Tuesday's 8-2 win over the Astros.

Impact Gelof went back-to-back with Seth Brown in the fourth for his only hit of the evening. It was just his second hit in five games since coming back from the All-Star break and he's struggled a lot over the last two weeks, slashing just .105/.190/.342 in 10 games since July 10. The 24-year-old has had a rough go of it this season overall, slashing just .198/.261/.372 with 13 homers, 35 RBI, 38 runs and a 23:113 BB:K in 328 plate appearances.

Shea Langeliers - Homers in blowout win Langeliers went 1-for-4 with a solo home run in Tuesday's 8-2 win over the Astros.

Impact Langeliers joined the home run party with a seventh inning blast for the team's fifth long ball of the night. The home run was his second since coming back from the All-Star break and his 19th of the year, as he's well on his way to surpassing his career-high mark of 22 he set last season. The 26-year-old is still having trouble hitting for average and may go a third consecutive season hitting under .220. Langeliers is currently slashing .211/.265/.441 with 53 RBI, 36 runs and a 21:94 BB:K in 332 plate appearances.

Brent Rooker - Homers again Tuesday Rooker went 1-for-3 with a two-run homer, a walk and a stolen base in Tuesday's 8-2 win over the Astros.

Impact Rooker kicked off the scoring with a first inning two-run shot to left center and the Athletics never looked back from there. He now has five homers and 13 RBI over his last seven games, and he tied his career high in RBI with Tuesday night's blast. The 29-Rooker is now slashing .291/.370/.578 with 23 homers, 69 RBI, 48 runs, six steals and a 39:115 BB:K in 365 plate appearances this year. The 29-year-old is in the midst of a career year, though the one outlier is his strikeout rate sits at 31.5 percent.

Seth Brown - Goes deep Tuesday Brown went 2-for-4 with a solo home run and a double in Tuesday's 8-2 win over the Astros.

Impact Brown was one of five Athletics to go yard Tuesday. His blast came in the fourth inning off Jake Bloss, and he later added a double in the seventh inning. In nine games since being recalled from Triple-A Las Vegas, Brown has totaled seven hits, three of those going for home runs and two being doubles. He's slashing .197/.261/.351 with eight homers, 20 RBI, 19 runs and a 17:74 BB:K in 226 plate appearances.

Jordan Diaz - Enjoying solid year in Vegas Diaz owns a .281 average and .836 OPS across 272 plate appearances over 66 games with Triple-A Las Vegas this season.

Impact Diaz has spent the entire season with the Aviators, and he no longer holds a spot on the Athletics' 40-man roster after being designated for assignment May 23. However, the 23-year-old, who already boasted two very successful stints with Las Vegas during his minor-league career prior to his current Triple-A tenure, has put together a well-rounded line that includes 24 extra-base hits (11 doubles, one triple, 12 home runs), 46 RBI, 25 walks, 38 runs and a respectable 19.5 percent strikeout rate. Given he was able to occasionally hold his own against big-league pitching in each of the last two seasons (.634 OPS, 22 extra-base hits and 28 RBI across 105 games) and his youth, it wouldn't be out of the question for Diaz to be given another look in Oakland before the end of the season, perhaps as a September promotion.

Darell Hernaiz - Two more hits in second rehab game Hernaiz (ankle) started at shortstop and played six innings in Triple-A Las Vegas' loss to Salt Lake on Sunday, going 2-for-3 with a run.

Impact Hernaiz was encouragingly able to log a solid workload on defense just a day after playing a full game at designated hitter, and he hit safely for the second time in as many contests as well. Through two games, Hernaiz's rehab assignment appears to be going as well as expected, but he still figures to remain on the farm for several more contests at minimum before activation is considered.

Impact Schuemann closed out the scoring on the night in the fourth inning with his timely knock, which plated Zack Gelof. The rookie has emerged from the All-Star break with a sizzling bat, going 6-for-11 with two doubles, a home run, six RBI, three walks and seven runs over his first four games. However, he's been consistently delivering at the plate for the majority of July, a month in which he's mustered a .396 average, 1.133 OPS, five extra-base hits and 11 RBI across 60 plate appearances.
