Impact Lewis got the Twins on the board in the second inning with a homer off lefty Joey Wentz. He's now up to four home runs and a steal to go along with a .315/.333/.507 slash line, though he's also struck out 21 times in just 73 at-bats. Expect the 24-year-old to be in the lineup more often than not -- the Twins will continue to build in occasional off days after multiple tears of the same ACL interrupted Lewis' development as a prospect.

Impact Since making his 2023 debut with the Twins on May 29, Lewis has been holding his own in the big leagues, slashing .318/.318/.477 over his first 44 plate appearances. However, because he's returning from the second ACL tear to his right knee of his young professional career, the Twins seem to be managing his workload somewhat conservatively. Despite getting a breather for Saturday's 9-4 win over the Blue Jays, Lewis will get another chance to rest up for the day game just four days later. Donovan Solano will spell Lewis at third base in the series finale with Milwaukee.

Lewis is batting .270 (10-for-37) with two homers, four runs and seven RBI through nine games since making his season debut, but his 0:11 BB:K is a sign he hasn't yet fully shaken off the rust from his long layoff.

Impact After exiting late in Sunday's 2-1 loss to the Guardians when he suffered a laceration to his forehead along with a sore shoulder following his involvement in an on-field collision, Lewis sat out Tuesday's 7-0 loss in the series opener. Fortunately for the Twins, the 24-year-old looks like he'll be good to go moving forward after getting two full days off to recover from the injury. He should handle a near-everyday role at third base after posting a .680 OPS through his first six games since being activated from the 60-day injured list in late May.

Impact The 23-year-old collided with Guardians first baseman Gabriel Arias while attempting to beat out a grounder during the eighth inning, and Lewis flipped over Arias and appeared to land on his arms and head. Lewis was evaluated by the training staff for a few minutes but eventually left the field under his own power. Impact It was an amazing 2023 major league debut as he powered the Twins offense with a home run and then a clutch double with two outs in the ninth inning to send the game into extra innings.
