Impact Tatis -- who is dealing with a femoral stress reaction -- has already begun playing catch and swinging a bat and will be allowed to incrementally increase his baseball activities. A clearer timetable for Tatis' return is unlikely to be available until he resumes running with no issues, but he certainly looks to be trending in a good direction.

Impact Montgomery's absence is closing in on three months, but the Padres haven't provided any details regarding his injury nor offered word on if he's on track to pitch again in 2024. The 21-year-old right-hander made three appearances (two starts) for Lake Elsinore before landing on the shelf, striking out 10 over seven innings while allowing three earned runs on four hits and six walks.

Impact Ornelas has spent the entire 2024 season at El Paso, slashing .316/.390/.515 with 12 home runs and five stolen bases across 310 plate appearances. Though he'll remain with El Paso coming out of the All-Star break, the 24-year-old outfielder is now a part of the Padres' 40-man roster. The transaction should improve his chances of receiving his first big-league call-up at some point later this season.

Out for ASG due to thumb injury Arraez will attend All-Star festivities in Texas but will not play in Tuesday's game due to a jammed left thumb, Kevin Acee of The San Diego Union-Tribune reports.
Impact Arraez first hurt the thumb while sliding into third base June 25. He has played in all but two of San Diego's games since then, most recently sitting out Sunday's contest versus Atlanta. While Arraez has mostly been able to remain in the lineup despite the injury, he admitted that the thumb hurts "a lot" when he swings and catches the ball. It doesn't sound like the issue will cause him to miss much, if any, additional time in games that count, but he'll use the All-Star break to rest the jammed thumb rather than risking further injury in the exhibition contest.

Takes fifth loss Vasquez (2-5) took the loss Sunday against Atlanta, allowing two runs on four hits and a walk while striking out five over five innings.
Impact Vasquez kept Atlanta off the scoreboard through three frames before eventually surrendering a run in the fourth and another in the fifth. He was pulled after five at just 73 pitches while registering six whiffs. Vasquez will head into the All-Star break on a bit of a nice groove. Over his last four starts, the righty has posted a 2.21 ERA, 1.28 WHIP and 15:6 K:BB in 20.1 innings. On a larger scale, Vasquez hasn't been as sharp, as he owns a 4.57 ERA, 1.56 WHIP and 43:15 K:BB in 63 innings.

Impact Campusano entered as a pinch hitter in the seventh and took A.J. Minter deep for a two-run blast to make it a 5-3 deficit for the Padres. The long ball was his first hit in eight at-bats since being activated from the injured list July 5 and was his sixth homer on the year. Campusano has started just two games since his activation and seemingly won't be able to carve out much playing time unless an injury in front of him occurs. The 25-year-old backstop is slashing .230/.276/.376 with 19 extra-base hits, 33 RBI, 26 runs and a 14:29 BB:K in 228 plate appearances.
