Impact Kim reached base three times in the contest, the seventh time he has accomplished that feat this season. He also notched a campaign-high three runs and stole his seventh base. Kim notched a career-high 12 thefts last season, so he is well above pace to exceed that mark this year.

Jose Azocar - Starts for Soto, swipes bag Azocar went 1-for-3 with a run, two RBI and a stolen base Sunday in a loss to the Yankees.
Impact Azocar wasn't in the original lineup, but he got the start after Juan Soto (back) was scratched. Azocar rounded the bases after singling in the second inning, completing a little-league homer on a pair of New York throwing errors. The speedy outfielder came off the injured list May 20 but had seen minimal time since since his return, going 0-for-3 prior to Sunday. Soto is expected to be back in the lineup Tuesday, per AJ Cassavell of MLB.com, which will presumably push Azocar back to the bench.

Ryan Weathers - Gets another turn through rotation Weathers is scheduled to start Tuesday's road game versus the Marlins.
Impact With Seth Lugo (calf) still stuck on the 15-day injured list, Weathers will receive a second turn through the rotation as San Diego's No. 5 starter. In his return from Triple-A El Paso last week against the Nationals, Weathers covered six innings but took the loss after allowing five runs (four earned) on seven hits and two walks. The Padres haven't provided an update regarding where exactly Lugo stands in his recovery, so Weathers could be in store for a two-start week. After Tuesday's outing, Weathers would tentatively line up for another turn next Sunday versus the Cubs in San Diego.

Juan Soto - Expected back Tuesday Soto (back) is expected to return to the San Diego lineup for Tuesday's series opener in Miami, AJ Cassavell of MLB.com reports.
Impact Soto was forced to miss his first start of the season in Saturday's 10-7 loss to the Yankees after his back reportedly tightened up on him while he was swinging in the batting cage. Cassavell relayed that Soto still lobbied to start, but the Padres opted to err on the side of caution and hold the 24-year-old out for the afternoon. Soto still felt well enough to make a pinch-hit appearance in the seventh inning, so he looks like he'll be good to go coming out of Monday's team off day.

Impact Soto won't be in the starting lineup for the first time in the 2023 campaign. The outfielder could be available off the bench according to Acee, but the Padres will take precaution with the 24-year-old with San Diego getting an off day Monday before their three-game series against Miami beginning Tuesday. Jose Azocar is starting in left field in Soto's absence.

Impact Odor appears to have emerged as the primary replacement in the infield for Manny Machado, who hadn't played since May 15 due to a hand injury before landing on the 10-day injured list last weekend.
